A Study on the Psychological Aspect of Pulmonary Thc Patients ,

Abstract
|
|
|
It is the purpose of this study to get available information’s for the psychological nursing for the patients with pulmonary, tuberculosis.
The data were collected through the questionnaires which had been distributed
to the patients at Inchon Red Cross Tbc. Sanatorium and the Masan National
Sanatorium from 18th of August to 5th of October; 1975.
Data analysis disclosed following results
1) Knowledge and attitude of the patients on the disease.
a) 205 patients-97.6% of the total 210 patients know that the tuberculosis is
a communicable disease, and the others a hereditary disease and etc.
b) 91.9% of the patients believe the tuberculosis can be cured completely
2) Patients reactions and requests for the medical team,
a) 70.5% of the patients are not satisfied with present way of treatments.
b) They ask the doctors to treat them more aggressively and to inform.
them the detailed process.
They want the nurses to give them kind talking and consolation, and to have empathy for them.
3) Psychological status of the patients
a) 61.9% were extremely shocked when they were told to nave tuberculosis b) The most dreadful event for the patients was recurrence of the disease in 42. 9%.
c) 77. 1% of the patients answered that they thought about the death 51.2% of them thought it is a complete none, and 36.4% believed there
will be another world, and they remained 12.4% answered "I don´t know" ad) 68.1% thought themselves to "nave introverted characteristics.
Anyway more than half of the patients were easily stirred by stimuli.
